Oh what JOY!!!......

It's the first of December!

what a magical month it is going to be!!

I can't wait......

the house is decorated the trees are up!!

5 this year!

Yes you read right!

because today is the December 1st challenge over at

Get Creative challenge blog

the challenge is to make an ornament...

for your tree

or as a decoration for your house

or as an embellishment on a layout

or christmas card!

I made a fabric banner to decorate the house

and here is how.....

Maya Road fabric banner....

I painted a generous layer of gesso

once the gesso dried I used a snow flake as a mask

and misted with glimmer mist

While waiting for the banner to dry

I cut out the word JOY from chipboard

Then misted again with Maya Road mists

So once every thing dried...

I started embellishing

with stickers...brads and snowflakes!

Once upon a time....

............this man (my brother)

and this woman (my sister in law)

fell in love,

they got married

then one day

the doctor told them they were

going to be a family of

my heart bursts with pride

when I look at these photos

...............and breaks...............

because they are so far away from me.

A day for thanks!

Day 22

Mixed feeling about this day

as I was placed on bed rest

I know I should be thankful....

but......

I can't sit still that long!!!

technology....

as I can connect with friends on the other side of the world

with a click and enter!!!!!

Day 19

I am grateful for the culture that is all around us

(C3 at an art gallery opening)

Day 20

I am grateful for movie dates with friends

and cheesy love stories

that make you howwwwl....

Day 21

I am grateful for Sundays

which are baking day in our household.......

...... I managed a loaf of bread...........

.......Spinach and feta cheese bake.....

........and cupcakes of course!!!)

Day 16,17 and 18 of gratitude

let's just say that this week

so far..........

has been a difficult one for gratitude

here is why

Day 16

I was grateful that.........

the demon that was possesing this little man

vanished and I had my sweet little boyand that smile back again

Day 17

I was grateful that my son knew

why the 17th of November is a day of remembrance for Greece

(because there are people who live in this country (natives) and do not have a clue!!!!!!)

I am also grateful that the memory of the

students that lost their lives,

in the student uprising against the military junta

at the Athens Polytechnic on November 17th 1973

has not been forgotten

Day 18

I am finding it difficult to be grateful today

due to some news I got this morning from Australia

I am feeling rage, despair

and my heart is breaking

and there is nothing I can do about it

and the feeling of uselessness makes me very very unhappy...

so today I am not grateful.......

I am grateful.....

now this is a difficult one

today was a bad day

because this little man decided to misbehave badly....

resulting in me grounding him this week...

so I am grateful that tomorrow is another day

and hopefully a better one

that helped me clean the house.....

(and then suggested we get a cleaning lady one day!!)

I am grateful for my hobby that makes me so happy......

today I woke up to find that I had won a rak.....

and then this layout was The Studio pick for the month of Ocotber

Wow nearly 2 weeks.......

Well I am ignoring how long I have been away.............

got to spend some days in Thessaloniki with family

I am grateful for crafty friends

and receiving such beautiful works of art from them

I am grateful for having a creative outlet

witnessing this little man wake up every

day ready

I am grateful for being friends

with this little munchkin!

Day 6

I am grateful for Saturday lunches

and C3 being able to spend time with his grandparents

I am grateful for sleepy Sunday's

and watching back to back cartoons

snuggled up on the couch

Day 8

I am grateful for lunch and movie dates with C3

Day 9

I am grateful for a son

who willingly made me breakfast

(ham and cheese sandwhich tasted better than it looks)

Day 10

I am grateful for being given the opportunity

to be a mother to this handsome little man

Day 11

I am grateful for tea with friends

Day 12

I am grateful for playdates

because they make my son happy

and keep me sane

hopefully back tomorrow with more............
