Ok now down to business

May 1st today and

what a month it is going to be!!

in 4 days we celebrate easter (Greek Orthodox)

then we celebrate Mothers day (YES!!!!!!!)

then my sons 10th birthday

then my mums 65th birthday

then my dad's name day

then my 45th birthday (YES!!!!)

then my brother's 42nd birthday....

and yes we are broke by the end of the month 

and 5 kilos heavier from all the cake wine and food LOL

ok so i am being dramatic hahaha

anywayyyyyy

back to the challenge over at

and I had to use this gorgeous photograph of our little girl who

kicked off the birthday season by turning 18 (OMG)

on Sunday!!.....

this is C3 with his best buddy from kindergarten

they go to different schools now

(they are in the 4th grade)

but their friendship is going strong 

and they see each other every week

They became firm friends when Elias (the one in blue)

came to C3's rescue in the playground.

Unfortunately the other children would grab C3's glasses and jump on them

(who brings up children like that??????????)

 my son was so afraid to play with the other children

in fear that they would break his glasses so he played on his own

Elias went up to him one day and asked if he wanted to play with him

and that was the begining of their friendship...

In this picture we are on holidays in Mani the Peloponese with Elias's family

the boys here are having a rest

a quiet moment before their next adventure!

I cannot believe its been a month since I last posted!!!

We are still house hunting its keeping me busy

plus every day life has been busy....

I have found time to play and create

a medley of layouts and altered items believe it or not!!

So let's get on with the show LOL

1st altered item a matchbox that holds a mini album

made at the scrapbookers in Greece crop

then a couple of days later

I made this fabulous fabulous (channelling my inner girly girl)

I love it to bits and want to make another one

(insert scoffing and laughter....where will i find the time????)

so here is one of my first layout using some ancient Basic Grey (well it wasnt then LOL)

the little man in the picture is my sweet little boy...

he is so adorable holding the phone upside down

they grow up so fast!!!

and this is my interpretation now

lots of misting stamping washi tape etc.....

March 1st layout challenge st Get Creative

Well on the 1st of march hubby and I celebrated 10years of marriage!

what a milestone considering we have been together since 1995!!

I have been MIA again since we are having serious problems with the house

I may have mentioned previously that we had a leaking ceiling

well it got bad!

half the house was leaking

then we had the freak storm 10days ago

and the house was a rendered a mess....

so that was it I could not take it any more...

 so I have been looking to move 

house hunting was not as fun as thought it would be!!

and I am slowly packing and decluttering the house for when we finally move!

WOW we have collected a lot of junk over the years!

I digress as usual

Where does the time go??....

I will never get an answer to that question!

I know one thing is for sure

I need some serious time management lessons

especially for all things scrappy and creative!

My family/ personal life seems to be on track 

its the other side that does not get the same amount of attention from me!

As you may or may not know

I run 

(with the help of my design team)

a challenge blog called 

Get Creative

it is my baby and I have watched it grow

for 2 years now

I have  a very talented  creative team

and have had very talented ladies create for me in the past..

It is a busy challenge blog with something happening at least once a week

We have 2 card challenges and 2 layout challenges

 plus an inspirational project every month

So far 2 challenges have gone live for the month of February

here is my layout for the 1st

the challenge is favourite of mine

and a popular one

your challenge is to create a layout with 

snowflakes

(your photo does not have to be about the snow)

the challenge is to be creative with snowflakes!

here is my take on the challenge

I went crazy with coarse modelling paste 

trying to get the same effect as the snow in the photo

here are some close ups

The snow flakes were cut with the cameo and sprinkled with glitter

which of course does not show up in the photo

the film strip was also cut with the cameo

I did not want to overload the layout with embellishments as I wanted the texture of the 

"snow"

 modelling paste to be in focus
