I made this layout a couple of weeks ago now....
it was actually made with some scrapping buddies on the island of Aegina
I have used the Glitz Scarlett kit from
The red frill around the layout was made with the Martha Stewart Doilie punch,
I punched out doilie strips from the vanilla cardstock in the kit
then I sprayed the strips with Candy Apple red Glimmer Mist (again from the kit)
once the strips dried I pleated them and placed them around the layout!
This picture has such bitter sweet memories
apart from the fact DH and I are very young (I was 28) LOL
we were also celebrating the marriage of a dear friend of ours
and a year later to the day she died from breast cancer
she was only 28!
Oh Irini that is so sad ! So young. Fab layout and the photo could have been taken yesterday. Must have taken ages to do that border it's fab ! love the green and the red and all those lovely flowers simply beautiful. I hope you are feeling a bit ( well a lot better )

Irini, this is so tragic... I can't imagine how her husband coped with this loss...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your layout is beautiful, wonderful, exquisite!!
so very sad indeed .. when someone "young" dies it always makes a huge impact on the people around them ... such a difficult journey for those left.
ReplyDeletethe LO is gorgeous Irini.... I feel it is always good to scrap the tough times as well as the good times .. scrapping is about ALL of life and as hard as it is it can be healing for you ..big hugz and take care .. sweetness x
ReplyDeleteAmazing lo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIrini I have mixed emotions about your post..in the beginning I was so thrilled by the awesome technique you did and the great use of glimmer mist...and then I was so sad to hear the story...a real tragedy...
ReplyDeleteHugs your way!

Irini loved the way your L.O turned out..I too watched it develop in Aegina....your story is tragic and so sad....that is why we should always try and live each moment in life to the fullest of our ability....keep well, miss you!
Wowwwwwwwwwww! This is GORGEOUS! I loveeeeeeeeee that masking and loveeeeeee the paper folded around the die cut shape!! you are AMAZING! :):):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteIrini, by scrapping this page you keep the memory of your friend alive in you heart and thru this post ... it may be bittersweet but that is in fact the truest benefit of scrapbooking ... preserving the memories!!!
ReplyDeleteThe layout is fab, and I loved watching you create it!!!
Wow! Irini this is gorgeous! Love how you made the red trim. It looks like it was bought. I'm going to have to remember this. Spraying it red is perfect for this lo. The rest of the misting looks fab as well and that pic is awesome of the two of you!
ReplyDeleteWOW gorgeous page Irini, the colours are so eye-catching.. just love Glitz papers and adore the pleated border and masking!! How sad about your dear friend.. 28 is so young. Big hugs :)))
