Use It Tuesday!......

Time to use it!
over at

we are asking you to use an
uninked stamp
on your project along with older stash!!
here is my take on the challenge
I used Glitz Designs distressed rounds stamp
I inked the image and stamped it on white cardstock
then I cut around it it inked the edges
and misted it red of course!!
then I placed it under the photograph of
our precocious miss who would have been 14yrs old here!!
This was a quick and simple layout
as I was running a temp at the time!
It is official I hate spring
it may be a beautiful season
but I cannot handle the fluctuations in temperature
do you think it's old age?????LOL

back to the layout....
I think the title really should have read
"You know like"
a very teen phrase
which
I might add 3 years down the track
she still says!! LOL

Ok so here's the low down on stash used
Glitz Designs distressed rounds stamp
Basic Grey pattern paper/blueline
white spray paint
corrugated cardboard was spray painted red
the chicken wire (real yes!!) was spray painted white
some misting from Mr Huey Hot Dog
some carbochon red and black cant remember where I bought them
white heart made myself
and the black board die cut I am embarrased to say
I havent a clue wish I had kept the packaging!
and of course on top of the die cut are some American Crafts thickers!!

Head on over to the blog to see what the design team created
there are some gorgeous creations!
So we will be waiting for you to play along
as I am sure there are many stampers and scrapbookers out there that
have many unused stamps laying about....
go on
USE IT.....
and upload it to the blog!

This one's for you Stella Bech!!!.....

A couple of weeks ago at a friendly crop
young Stella
was playing with mists on some cardstock and she hated the end result
she was about to throw out the paper when
I shouted Are you crazy????
I want it!!!
and she handed it over thinking this woman is mad what does she want to create with this
destroyed cardstock
you see the card stock was misted with a very dark mauve actually looks black
in the bottom left hand corner and the top right hand corner
I was so excited to start creating that I forgot to take a before photo
yes I am an idiot!!
So you just have to trust me on this one
So I went to town misitng other colours and some masking was done and paint splatters
I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!!
and this is the end result
So dear sweet Stella you can make layouts out of mistakes!!

here are some closeups!

I will be entering this layout in the March challenge over at
Scrap for Help
where Cynthia Lorens has asked us to use chipboard!

I was also going to take part in one of the challenges over at
but dear Mandy I did not read the challenge properly thus no strawberries to go along with the hearts!! haha...next time...

materials used
cream cardstock from Stella Bech
lots of Maya Road mists
the only materials I remember are the heart die cut from Glitz Designs
the hot air balloon I fussy cut from a Webster's page page...
the film strip chipboard I have no idea where it is from!!
i sprinkled some hearts and carbochon flowers here and there
under the photo is some corrugated cardboard and protective fabric for shoes which which were both  misted

March 15th....

means new challenges at

here is a taste but for more info on the sponsors and prizes please go to the blog

March 15th Challenge

Journalling Criteria:   Finish this line "I miss...".
Tell us about someone you are missing right now and why. Your journalling can be as long or as little as you like, but we want to hear all about someone you are missing!

Ideas for journalling: missing time alone with your partner, missing your old self, missing your children because they are off to school, university or living away from you, missing your children being young, missing a friend you have not seen in a while, someone in another country, someone that has passed away, a mentor whose advice you could use, a relative you wish you lived closer to, someone you regret having an argument with, missing a pet

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.
YOU MUST combine our journalling criteria with this sketch..

over at

we are introducing two new designers
that will be creating layout sketches for Getr Creative
we kick off this month

head on over to the blog to see what the guest designers

Discovering her style.......

When I saw these photos of our precocious
soon to be 17yr old
I knew they had to be scrapped
"dramatically"
just like our drama queen!!
the journalling reads:
Your love of theatre and dance has never waned,
I love how you are now playing with the camers discovering your own style

A special thank you to

for their advice and pieces of their stash....

I am entering this layout in the
Bird Is The Word
challenge to use the word
DISCOVER
if you look closely it is written twice once in white
then I went over it again with a red glitter pen
not very successfully I know
please excuse the photo
for a country that boasts a shining sun 11 months of the year
we have had 3 months of darkness and cold.....
